Denver, CO - August 17, 2005
- Groople, the leading online group travel resource, rolls out the first online group cruise booking engine, allowing cruisers to research, book and manage their group bookings online with six of the worlds top cruise lines. Through Groople.com, groups requesting eight or more staterooms can also tap into special group rates and amenities, which sometimes include a free stateroom.
Group leaders can now find a cruise that meets their needs, receive personalized recommendations and book on Groople.com, without ever picking up a phone. Grooples Cruise Wizard guides customers through a step-by-step process to ensure they select the right cruise, providing information on cruising destinations, climate conditions, cruise demographics and cruise line offerings.
Groople also cuts out tedious processes for the group leader, such as selecting staterooms, collecting individual payments and verifying documentation. All of these steps can be completed by the group participants directly on www.groople.com
For groups with questions or concerns, Grooples cruise specialists are available by phone at 1-888-4GROOPLE. They also assist with special requests, such as arranging for champagne and chocolates in guests staterooms and planning private cocktail parties.
The group cruise market is on the rise, with passenger numbers increasing at an average of 8% per year over the past 25 years, and 48 million North Americans expected to cruise in the next three years*. Cruises are the top family reunion destination according to an ASTA/Vacation.com survey, preferred by 42.9% of respondents**. The Travel Industry Association reports one in three US adults have traveled to a family reunion in the past three years***.
By working closely with six of the top cruise lines, we can offer even more value for this growing market said Groople Chief Executive Officer David Loy. We are excited to provide our customers with the automation to quickly find and book their cruise online, while still offering the support of our group planning experts behind them at every step of the process.
